Translation memories
Terminological harmony enabling you to save time and money
Translation memories are customised, customer-specific contents.
All too often their importance is underestimated, yet they provide invaluable support and are an important investment for future translations.
Translation memories are a special type of archive used by CAT tools, namely assisted translation software. Unlike glossaries, they can only be bilingual and store the segments or sentences of a text, with a single and unique transposition.
When a translator uses a translation memory, all translated segments are memorised and whenever a similar or identical segment comes up again, they are automatically re-presented.
The creation and use of this kind of terminology data base guarantees coherence of translated texts coupled with productive process optimisation, which translates into significant savings in terms of time and money, for the client.
